Is the Pilates Method just another kind of workout? Pilates Method of Body Conditioning is a complete method of training. It comprises of a big range of correctly chosen exercises, which train and strengthen all the body harmoniously. Muscles get striated without becoming bulgy, they become more flexible. The trainee gains a very good physical condition, and develops greater stamina.
Can I practise Pilates if I have not exercised for a long time? If there is no health problem that may forbid this sort of exercise then anyone can begin the Pilates Method always under the supervision of an instructor. Being fit is not a prerequisite since the Method trains the body correctly and in a corrective manner.
How many times a week do I have to train?
This depends firstly on the trainee’s needs and free time. Three times a week is the ideal frequency for any sort of exercise. Twice a week is a more realistic frequency for most of the people that work.
Will my body get tightened? Will I lose weight? No training method alone can result to the loss of intramuscular or subcutaneous fat if not combined with the appropriate diet. It is certain though that the Pilates Method causes tightening, so that even if someone does not lose weight one looks slimmer.
What should I wear?
Soft and comfortable training clothes, socks necessarily but no shoes.
Is it for men too? What is the age targeting to? The Pilates Method just like any other form of exercise has no gender. It is suitable for adults, males and females of all ages, except for young children.
